I collect stamps and FDCs mainly showing Nubian Monuments, Ramses II and the famous bust of Queen Nefertiti. This is my collection - I hope you will enjoy it.

And now for something completely different...
A front view of the Great Temple at Abu Simbel on a ticket from the New York World's Fair 1964-65 (UAR Pavillion).
Nubian Monuments - Liberia
Another long-anticipated arrival! It's not the beautiful Souvenir Sheet which is still eluding me but it is a very nice find.
This is a mint $2 stamp, issued in Liberia in 1997, depicting the colossal statues of the Great Temple of Abu Simbel.
The text at the bottom of the stamp reads "Monument of Nubia at Abu Simbel (Egypt)". The text on the right-hand side reads "50th Anniversary of UNESCO".
In all, a series of 24 stamps and souvenir sheets of various denominations and showing many international treasures were issued for the occasion.
UNESCO Campaign - Dahomey
It was issued on 09 March 1964, in Cotonou, in the Republic of Dahomey which existed from 1960 - following independence from being a French colony - until 1975 when it became the People's Republic of Benin. Cotonou is still Benin's largest city today.
