UNESCO Campaign - Yemen

These stamps were issued in 1963 by the Yemen Arab Republic (SG 224-5). They are the same as SG 159-60, overprinted with "Y.A.R. 27.9.1962", the date of the creation of the Republic.

UNESCO/Nubian Monuments - Rwanda

These stamps took me a while to source but here they are, fresh from Germany a couple of days ago.

They are part of a set of 8 depicting various aspects of the work of the UNESCO and were issued by the Republic of Rwanda in 1966 on the occasion of the 20th Anniversary of the Organisation.

These are the two stamps I was interested in as they represent the UNESCO Campaign for the preservation of the monuments of Nubia (SG 187 and SG 191).

UNESCO Campaign - Libya

Now I really love this lot, received from different sources over the past couple of weeks.

First day cover issued by Libya on 01 January 1966 for the UNESCO Campaign to save Nubian monuments.

The set of three stamps showing the Great Temple of Ramses II at Abu Simbel being protected by a pair of hands (SG 363-5).

The three Souvenir Sheets (SG 363a-365a).

Champollion - Egypt FDC

This is the first of the items I received today: a mint condition FDC from Egypt, issued on 16 October 1999 to commemorate the bicentenary of the discovery of the Rosetta Stone. The FDC also depicts J-F Champollion. The stamp is SG 2127.
